Hybrid System Implant Prothesis

A hybrid prosthesis is composed by a substructure of noble metal that it is covered by acrylic or porcelain teeth and that it is screwed on diverse implants. It is a fixed prosthesis for the patient that can be only removed by the professional when it is convenient. In many cases, the utilization of hybrid prostheses is a viable option to restore function and esthetics in edentulous patients. Multiunit angled abutments allow the prosthetic screw access to be placed in a more favorable position through the cingulum/occlusal surface of the prosthetic teeth.

With the advent of CAD/CAM protocols, milled titanium hybrid prosthesis became quite popular in implant prosthodontics. The hybrid prostheses can be made on a variable number of implants, with a minimum of 4, although there ideally should be placed the biggest number of implants (6-8) that is possible.
Implant supported hybrid prosthesis can provide satisfactory results where esthetic and functional requirements are demanding. For optimal outcomes and avoid complications of cemented implant prosthesis, implant supported hybrid prosthesis is a good choice.
